A CRO’s Challenge: Validating Leading-Edge Software for Imaging Clinical Studies

Brenda K. Young, B.A., CRA

Senior Director, Clinical Operations, ACR Image Metrix™

Imaging contract research organization (CRO) projects involve all different radiologic modalities (CT, MRI, PET, ultrasound, mammography and spectroscopy) in many different therapeutic areas: oncology, cardiovascular, orthopedic and neurologic. Each study comes in a different imaging flavor. This poster features two case studies to further illustrate the challenges of validating imaging systems used in clinical studies.

A first–in-human Phase I pharmacodynamic (PD) and pharmacokinetic (PK) study of BNC105P a novel vascular disrupting agent (VDA) and inhibitor of cancer cell proliferation

Mark A. Rosen, M.D., Ph.D.

Scientific Director, ACR Image Metrix MRI Core Laboratory; for a complete list of authors, please see poster.

ACR Image Metrix has conducted its first open-label, in-human Phase I dose escalation study in patients with advanced solid tumors for which no standard therapy is available. The primary objective in this study was to determine the safety, toxicity profile, and maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of BNC105P. Take a look at the poster and the abstract to better understand the intricacies and conclusions of this study.
