Therapeutic Expertise

Expertise is key to your successful clinical trial.

As part of the ACR Clinical Research Center, ACR Image Metrix™ has unmatched access to expertise in a broad range of therapeutic areas. Chief among these is undoubtedly oncology, where ACR Image Metrix can draw on experience from more than 40 years of Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) studies, as well as more than 10 years of studies involving the American College of Radiology Imaging Network® (ACRIN®). In all, these two groups have conducted over 500 NCI oncology studies.

The ACR Image Metrix imaging core laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies that allow us to work across vendor platforms for such key modalities as CT, MRI/MRS, DCE-MRI, SPECT and PET, as well as X-ray and echocardiography. We provide both conventional and novel image quantitation, including two-dimensional, volumetric and functional/metabolic approaches.

Going beyond oncology, these advanced capabilities have allowed us to carry out a number of imaging-based neurology trials, such as the detection of Alzheimer's disease by imaging amyloid plaque in brain tissue, as well as studies that image pathology in dementia with Lewy bodies, Parkinson's disease and other conditions. Our experience in cardiovascular studies includes cardiac MRI and cardiac CT utilizing computer-aided detection (CAD) systems for several indications along with PET, SPECT and MRI for a number of studies in inflammatory/infectious diseases, musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes and obesity.

ACR Image Metrix is also the leading imaging CRO for medical device studies and has become the preferred provider for four software companies in studies involving CAD systems.
