Mehdi Adineh, Ph.D., Scientific Director of the Imaging Core Laboratory
Mehdi Adineh2Mehdi Adineh, Ph.D., is the scientific director of the imaging core laboratory of the American College of Radiology® (ACR®). As such, his responsibilities span the maintenance and organization of activities and trials in the imaging core laboratory.


Dr. Adineh has acquired more than 15 years of experience in the applications of multi-modality image acquisition and processing for various stages of clinical trials. As a Ph.D. level imaging physicist with specialties in medical imaging and processing, clinical trials, NMR spectroscopy and neuroimaging, he has made significant contributions in developing novel imaging techniques for biomarker investigations, as well as verification of imaging instrument performance and standardization of image acquisition protocols across sites.


The central focus of his research has been bridging the gap between basic science research and clinical trials, as well as civilian applications of military technologies. A graduate of Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, he is a member of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and is director of neuroscience research and development for Kettering Health Network.

 

Barry A. Siegel, M.D., Deputy Co-Chair and Medical Director, PET Core Laboratory, ACRIN
PeterHonored as an outstanding professor of radiology and medicine at Washington University Medical Center, Barry A. Siegel, M.D., serves as deputy co-chair and medical director of the American College of Radiology Imaging Network’s® (ACRIN®) positron emission tomography (PET) core laboratory. Since 1973, Dr. Siegel has been the director of the division of nuclear medicine at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University Medical Center, where he previously received his M.D. and fellowship. He brings ACR Image Metrix extensive experience as a researcher, government consultant to the FDA and key contributor to the development and operation of the National Oncologic PET Registry. His current research with ACRIN and the American College of Oncology Surgeons is focused on uses of PET for cancer diagnosis and staging, as well as predicting and monitoring the tumor response to therapy.


Certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine and by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic and nuclear radiology, Dr. Siegel is nationally-renowned for his academic achievements in radiology. In addition to being a prolific writer, he is an active editorial board and committee member of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Nuclear Physicians, ACR, the Radiological Society of North America and the Society of Nuclear Medicine.

 
Mark A. Rosen, M.D., Ph.D., Scientific Director, ACR Image Metrix MRI Core Laboratory
Mark RosenMark Rosen, M.D., Ph.D., is the scientific director of the ACR Image Metrix magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) core laboratory. Dr. Rosen is also the assistant professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He graduated with a Ph.D. from Columbia University, where he was decorated with the Dean’s Day Award and Miriam Spotnitz Award for his medical research. Dr. Rosen is a leading expert on the use of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) in clinical research. Dr. Rosen is leading the imaging portion of a trial being conducted at the University of Pennsylvania that uses DCE-MRI evaluate anti-angiogenic therapy.
